Resistance To Change
I find it easier to sell on Ebay than to sit down and work at internet marketing. They are both basically the same thing. Researching a product (keyword) and writing up an auction (article). Why is one harder than the other? I think it is resistance to change.
We are who we are based on years of practice being us. When we try to change we run into resistance. Our inner workings, our subconscious mind, says, "That is not you" and it resists any change. Even if we consciously want the change and the change would be good for us our subconscious does not cooperate.
Richard Butler, the success coach I have talked about, reminded me of the saying, "You eat an elephant one bite at a time". You also make changes one step at a time. Change in small increments are more easily accomplished than trying to make a huge change all at once.
My $10,000 challenge is not going how I envisioned it would. I am having a hard time getting it going. However, I am still attracting more cash than I normally earn. The thing I know, Ebay, is working. The thing I do not really know, internet marekting, is not working.
Our minds work with knows and unknowns. Knowns are safe and we accept them. They represent pleasure in our life. We can easily deal with and work with knowns. Unknowns are pain and we block them from happening if at all possible.
I believe my problem getting my internet marketing challenge going falls into knowns equal pleasure, Ebay sales and unknowns equal pain, internet marketing.
I know I can make a living with Ebay and I resist the unknown of making a living with internet marketing, all on a subconscious level.
Breaking through resistance and turning an unknown into a know is simple taking one bite of the elephant at a time. Doing one small thing at a time.
I think this is why I really like Dennis Becker's "5 Bucks A Day" system to earning money on the internet. He breaks it all down into bite sized pieces. Take a look at what Dennis offers at "5 Bucks A Day" . If you are in need of a system, a plan of action, I think Dennis has a great answer.
