Focus and Purpose Needed

My new beginning is exhilarating and scary at the the

same time. When you have dreamed doing something for a

long time and finally it is time for action you are very

excited and yet there are doubts and anxiety too.

The answer is to focus on what you want, not what you do

not want. Focus on the rewards of accomplishment. Focus

on the financial rewards. You will go in the direction

you focus on.

I thought "discipline" was a necessary ingredient in

making money online. Focus is more important. Being

excited about the outcome you desire is important, but I

am now wondering about discipline.  

Discipline is associated with pain when we are young

children. Spankings and slaps or timeouts in this new age

of child rearing. Discipline is associated with doing

what others want us to do an not what we want for

ourselves. Discipline is a harsh word with negative

connotations.  

I am dropping "discipline" from my internet marketing

vocabulary. Old habits die hard and I may slip and use

it at one time or another, but focus and purpose are

better words IMHO (in my humble opinion).  

So far, I have created two blogs, but one will probably

not be used as I created it on Wordpress.com which has

strict advertising rules. I see where it could be a

good place to work within there TOS (terms of service)

but that will take some thinking, so I will blog here on

my own site using blogger.com.  

Blogging with blogger is probably one of the fastest and

easiest ways to start a blog. I haven't tried every

blogging site, but have used and heard a lot of good

about Blogger.  

So, I have a website,

I am using 1and1.com . to host my domain and blog.

Right now 1and1.com is running a limited time special

where you can get a site up and running for $1.99. I am

going to create another site for part of what I am

planning.  

One of the things you want to do is take action on your

plans. One of the things you do not want to do it "TELL

ALL". Anything that is followed by a number of people

will get duplicated or even completely copied word for

word if it appears successful.  

So, I will tell you what I am doing, but I may not give

you the website I am doing it on. Seriously, people

actually stealing successful websites is a big problem

online.  

There are some sites you want to display. Such as those

that sell you products. Those that you want a lot of

people to know about in order to build your reputation in

the niche you choose to follow.  

So what niche is this blog going to follow? Internet

marketing of course. That is what I am doing. It will

not be a testimony to my expertise, it will be more

about my learning process and how someone with a little

knowledge turns that into cash in the bank. MY BANK and

maybe yours if I can inspire you to try to develop you

niche.  

Good things are already happening. Barrington Paige's

challenge is one of them and why this blog is finally a

reality.

The Beginning

Ordinary Internet Marketer Making $10,000 In 90 Days

I was inspired to create this Ordinary Internet Marketer" blog by Willie Crawford. He claimed he was an ordinary internet marketer when on September 29, 2006 he declared he was just that, an Ordinary Internet Marketer. He also proclaimed the he had challenged himself to earn $1,000,000 in 90 days using internet marketing. I respect Willie, but I am not sure I would go so far as to call him Ordinary. He is an established internet marketer with a history of successful ventures.

Actually, I had this idea just after he announced his challenge, and I even registered a website, I just never got the courage to announce that I could make my own challenge. The website I registered is http://ordinaryinternetmarketer.com The site is active and I am ready to add content.

Recently things have been making me look toward creating my own challenge and getting my internet marketing career going.

There are many things falling in place here that make this type of challenge even more doable than ever in the past. Most recently it started with Willie's interviews at The Internet Marketing Inner Circle. Then I watched The Secret. I am taking 3 coaching lessons from Richard Butler, The Success Coach.

The thing that pushed me over the top was Barrington Paige's 500 post contest and giving me access to his site Web Profits School I won Barrrington’s offer in his 500th post on the Warrior Forum. After winning, Barrington asked me to post a personal 90 day challenge in his forum. I am posting it here too. This is one I have been afraid to get involved in. AFRAID? Or unable to for whatever reason. Today I am motivated to start. Many things are pointing me in that direction including becoming a member of Barrington's Web Profit School.

My challenge is to earn $10,000 over and above my normal income. I will earn this $10,000 in the next 90 days. 90 days ends on April 17, 2007.

I do not have a list, and I never have. I do not have a product or proposed product launch of any kind. I do have a lot of PLR articles (articles I did not write, but have the license to use) and products gathering dust on my computer. Although I am not new to internet marketing, I have never done anything serious with it.

This is a challenge I have been thinking of since Willie announce his own challenge,but I have done nothing about.

Why $10,000? It is beyond anything I have made in the past and yet still believable for me. I currently make $125 to $175 a month with internet marketing using Adsense and affiliate sales.

Lots of things are happening that motivate me to do something that I have not done before. My rental house is for sale and when it sells, I will have to move. I do not have the money to move if I had to move today.

My youngest son does not have a car--that just happened. He has a wife and two young children and needs one. He is also on disability - job injury. I want to help him. If I meet this challenge, I can help him financially, but more than that I can teach him how to meet his own challenges.

I will begin this process with Bum Marketing Bum Marketing seems to encompass many areas of expertise. Article marketing, copywriting, blogging and more that will apply to any technique. Any of these talents can be used in most techniques for earning money with internet marketing.

What this means to me over and above the money is that I have activated myself and started seriously working toward a new career in internet marketing. This is a new beginning.
